1. Principle of method

The water content of normal poultry meat has a certain rule in the siphon unfolding distance on the test strip. When the tested sample exceeds the regular value of this rule, it can be inferred that the water content of the sample exceeds the limit value.

This kit is suitable for the rapid identification of whether fresh meat has been illegally injected with water, not for the detection of frozen meat.

3. Sample determination

Use a knife to cut a cut about 1 cm deep and 1.5 cm long on the cross-section of the muscle (lean meat) of the meat sample to be tested (if there is a lot of moisture on the surface of the sample, the surface moisture should be gently wiped off first, and the meat skin part cannot represent the water content of the body);

Insert the end of the test strip with the scale line into the incision, so that all the test strips below the black scale line are inserted into the incision, and the flesh on both sides is gently moved closer to the test strip (do not squeeze hard), and let stand for 2 minutes;

Observe whether the water absorption height of the test strip exceeds the red scale line. If it exceeds, it can be preliminarily judged as water-filled meat;

If it does not exceed the red scale line, it is judged as a qualified sample.
