1 Scope of application
: This method is suitable for Sudan Red (

2 Sample processing
: Solid samples such as chili powder, take about
Add 1 gram of the sample to the container, add 4 ml of ethyl acetate, shake well for more than 1 minute, and let stand for more than 3 minutes. If the sample is chili oil, take about 0.5 grams (ml) of the sample in the container, add 5 ml of ethyl acetate miscible dilution.

3 points sample:
Take a piece of chromatography paper and place it at the bottom of the end
At 1cm, about 1cm apart in parallel, draw the + word line or five small dots of the main point with a pencil. Take 1 capillary tube and dip the sample to extract the dissolved solution, and point it evenly on the five + word lines in turn (when the color of the sample solution is lighter, the spotting can be repeated intermittently for many times, and the diameter of the spotting spots is controlled within 5mm). Take another four capillaries and dip an appropriate amount of Sudan Red No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 control solution respectively, and point them on the other + word lines except No. 1 point in turn.

4 Expand:
After taking out the items in the kit as an expansion kit, put an item at the bottom of the expansion kit so that one end is slightly tilted, and add about
3Ml development agent, put the coaster into the box at one-third of the position, put the chromatography paper (sample end facing down) into the development agent against the coaster, note that the height of the development agent should be below the spots, cover the box on the expansion box, and remove the chromatography paper when the expansion agent extends the chromatography paper upward to about 1 cm at the top of the chromatography paper.

5 Results of judgment:

When the No. 1 sample has spots in the unfolding track of the chromatographic paper, and the distance of the spots unfolding (running up) is equal to the distance of the spots after unfolding of a certain Sudan red control solution, the color is the same or the color is light but similar, it can be judged that the sample contains this pigment.

6 Description:

6.1 
The detection limit of this method is the amount of spot samples
10 ul, 0.08 ug visually visible; minimum detectable concentration 8 ug /ml. Accurate quantification requires high performance liquid chromatography.

6.2 
When the number of samples tested is large, it is not necessary to point the control solution on each sheet of chromatography paper. You can point several samples at a time. When spots appear during the deployment process, you can add the control solution to the experiment.
 

6.3 
The amount of spotting of Sudan red control solution should not be too much, and it is advisable to display spots without tailing.
   

6.4 
The use of the development agent should be appropriate, the liquid level should be controlled below the spots, and it is best to replace the development agent once per sheet of chromatography paper.
