1. Method Principle

Sulfite in the sample reacts with the chromogenic agent under certain conditions to form a purplish-red complex. The depth of the solution color is proportional to the content of sulfur dioxide in the sample. The content of sulfur dioxide in the sample can be determined by comparing the color card.

2. Scope of Application

This kit is suitable for the determination of sulfur dioxide content in foods such as white sugar, Tremella, lotus seeds, dried vegetables, and rice noodle products. It is not suitable for samples with colored liquids and sample processing fluids that interfere with color judgment.

Four, sample determination

1, sample processing

Water-soluble solid sample and liquid sample: weigh 1 gram of solid sample (liquid sample directly absorbed 1mL) in the sample cup, add 10mL of purified water, gently shake to dissolve and mix, as a sample treatment solution.

Water-insoluble solid sample: weigh 0.2 grams of sample in the sample cup, add 10mL of purified water, gently shake and mix for 5 minutes (those with conditions can be sonicated for 5 minutes), as a sample treatment solution.

2. Sample determination

Pick 1mL of sample processing solution into a 2 mL colorimetric tube, add 1 drop of reagent A, 0.3mL of reagent B, 0.3mL of reagent C, and 0.3mL of reagent D in turn, and mix well. After standing for 10 minutes, compare the readings with the standard colorimetric card. If the color exceeds the content range indicated by the colorimetric card, the sample should be diluted with purified water and re-measured, and the colorimetric result can be multiplied by the dilution multiple.

The detection limit of sulfur dioxide method of this kit is 2 mg/kg.

Six, Precautions

1, Color development is stable after 10 minutes, so the result must be judged after 10 minutes.

2, the use of this kit to determine the sample, should be carried out under ventilated conditions.

3, all reagents should avoid contact with the skin. If inadvertently contact, please immediately rinse with plenty of water.
