First, method principle

The lethal dose for infants is 2-3 g. Our country's "Food Hygiene Law" and "Sanitary Management Measures for Food Additives" expressly prohibit the use of borax as a food additive. However, because borax can improve the taste of many foods, especially meat products, illegal traders will use borax in food illegally. Borax can react with turmeric test paper, making the test paper turn red. The content of borax can be quickly judged by the color depth.

2, scope of application

Apply to the rapid detection of borax in meatballs, biscuits, shaqima, yuba, noodles and other foods, but not for the detection of dark liquid samples such as soy sauce.

Four, sample determination

1, weigh 1.0 grams of shredded or minced samples (0.5 grams for samples with strong water absorption) in the sample cup, add 2 ml of reagent A, stir well and soak for 5 minutes;

2, take a test paper, insert the sample soaking solution, soak for 3-5 seconds and take it out, blow dry with a hair dryer or dry naturally.

3. Leave the test strip after drying for 5 minutes and compare it with the colorimetric card to obtain the borax content in the sample.
