First, the principle of the method
The reaction between formaldehyde and AHMT generates a purple compound. The reaction color is compared with the standard colorimetric card to obtain the formaldehyde content.
Second, the scope of application
This kit is suitable for rapid screening of illegally added formaldehyde in aquatic products, aquatic products, rice flour products and soy products. It is not suitable for colored liquid samples and solid samples with darker soaking liquid colors.
three, you need to bring your own tools

four, sample determination
1, the sample to be tested shredded or minced, the soaking liquid color of the darker samples such as wolfberry without shearing;
2, weigh the shredded sample 1 g (strong water absorption sample such as Tremella take 0.2g) in the sample cup, add purified water to 10 ml scale, soak for 10 minutes.
3, absorb 1 ml of soaking liquid in the detection tube, add 6 drops of reagent A, 6 drops of reagent B, mix well, let stand for 10 minutes, add 4 drops of reagent C, mix well and compare with the colorimeter, calculate the formaldehyde content in the sample.

5. Detection limit
The formaldehyde detection limit of this kit is 2.5 mg/kg.
6. Precautions
1. Some foods contain trace formaldehyde background value, such as vermicelli is about 1 mg/kg, yuba is about 4-6 mg/kg, should pay attention to discrimination.
2. The color of the sample soaking liquid may interfere with the result judgment. If dark red appears, it is recommended to use other methods for determination or further inspection.
3. All reagents should avoid contact with the skin. If you accidentally contact, please rinse with plenty of water immediately.
