this year's "3.15" is the 43rd International Consumer Rights Day. On the morning of March 12, Wuhan Market Supervision Bureau and Wuhan Consumers Association launched the "Civilized and Honest, Build Satisfied Consumption Together" "Wuhan is Proud of Me" civilized practice activity Civilized Consumption Chapter in Wanda Plaza, Linjiaohu, Jianghan District, to further advocate civilized and rational consumption of citizens and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.

At the event site, the person in charge of Wuhan Consumers Association interpreted the theme of the 2025 National Consumers Association Organization Consumer Rights Year "Building Satisfied Consumption Together". Ten public welfare publicity booths were also set up on the spot, covering consumer rights protection services, arm's length transaction services, product quality science popularization, food safety quick inspection, identification of Chinese herbal medicines, identification of real and fake cigarettes, identification of real and fake wine, consumption of glasses and fire safety and other topics. In the past, citizens stopped one after another, actively participated in the interaction, received publicity materials and consulted related issues.

At the food safety quick inspection booth, Nine Pai journalists learned from the Wuhan Market Supervision and Administration Bureau that in order to improve the city's food safety level, relevant departments responded to the needs of the public, and the bureau launched the "You point and I check" activity, focusing on the food with high attention of the people. Through the citizens "order", let the masses "pay the bill" and let the food sampling inspection "visible and tangible".

It is understood that the Wuhan Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau has started the "You point I check" special project sampling activity since 2020, and takes different forms of sampling and inspection of different formats and different types of food every year.

"It used to be sampled according to the wishes of the staff, but now it is sampled according to the wishes of consumers. What consumers are interested in, we will conduct sampling inspection." Mr. Wu, a staff member of the Product Sampling Office of the Wuhan Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, said that this year's activities are more intense than in previous years. The 24-hour collection of public opinion throughout the year follows up on food sampling inspection, and the inspection report is regularly published.

Mr. Wu told reporters that the "you click I check" activity will set up different themes, such as focusing on "one old and one young", "one morning and one night" and other special groups and catering food safety, focusing on "Internet celebrity" food, "campus and surrounding food" and other people's attention to high food, through online voting, on-site selection and other methods, to determine the sampling category, through live broadcast, invited citizen representatives and other forms of visual display of food safety sampling workflow.

"We pay special attention to the food and beverage brands that citizens often come into contact with, such as HEYTEA, Naxue, Chayan Yuese and other milk tea brands, we will conduct offline sampling after listing them into a detailed list." Mr. Wu said.

Yu Hui, a staff member of the Chemical Testing Center of the Wuhan Food and Cosmetics Inspection Institute, said that the inspection center is mainly responsible for the sampling work of the food circulation link. The scope of food safety testing covers 38 food categories, among which special attention is paid to the sampling of food in the category of "rice noodle grain and oil". "So in the past two years, the number of samples of this kind of food is relatively large, focusing on whether edible agricultural products contain pesticides and veterinary drug residues."

tester Li Hongquan demonstrated to reporters how to use the "Food Safety Rapid Testing Kit" for rapid testing. He introduced that the whole testing process only takes 15 minutes, and citizens can detect whether the food has six pesticide residues of "chlorpyrifos", "carbofuran", "methylisophos", "water aminthion", "fipronil" and "triazophos" at home. "But it is only a qualitative experiment, and the specific content exceeding the standard needs to be further tested by professionals," he said.
