1 introduction
There is no difference in color and taste between methanol and ethanol. Trace amounts of methanol in wine can cause chronic damage to the human body, and high doses can cause acute poisoning in the human body. Multiple alcoholic intoxication in our country is caused by drinking alcohol prepared with industrial alcohol containing high doses of methanol or drinking alcohol prepared directly with methanol.
2 Limit standard
GB2757-2012 "Distilled liquor and its formulated liquor" stipulates that the limit of methanol is 0.6 g/L for grains and 2 g/L for others.
3 detection principle
Methanol is extracted and reacted with reagents to generate colored compounds. The color depth is proportional to the content within a certain range, and the content of methanol in the sample is read with the color card control.
4 Detection range
is suitable for the rapid determination of trace methanol in Baijiu, but not for colored wine.

6 Sample Determination
6.1 In a 2 mL colorimetric tube, add the wine sample with a straw to 0.5 mL scale, add 2 drops of reagent A dropwise, mix well and leave for 10 minutes;
6.2 Dropwise add 2 drops of reagent B, shake up and down, let stand for 3 minutes, so that the solution is fully mixed until completely faded, add 5 drops of reagent C dropwise, bathe at 50 ° C for 10 minutes (or react at room temperature for 20 minutes), compare with the color card to find the same color level as the solution in the detection tube, and the value on the color plate is the methanol content in the sample.
7 Precautions
7 The experiment should be operated carefully, do not splash into the eyes, and immediately rinse with water when splashing on the skin;
7 After adding reagent B, shake and mix well, and let stand for 3 minutes to observe that the color is not completely faded, and then add 1~ 2 drops of reagent B to completely fade;
7.3 When reagent C is red, it means that the reagent has failed and cannot continue to be used.
7.4 This product is only used for initial screening, and the final result is subject to the relevant national standards and methods.
8 Storage conditions and valid period
Reagents are stored in a cool and dry place at 4-30 ° C, protected from light, and the valid period is 12 months.
